imageI just finished "The Hot Shoe Diaries" Big Light from Small Flashes by Joe McNally and I though I’d give my 2 cents worth. If you have not read this book yet and you own a flash, well … You should either be shot or you should be running off to buy it.

The book concept is not to explain to you step by step the technical aspect of using flashes for that your flash manual will do, the book is more about the essence of light using flashes. Joe McNally does a brilliant job of explaining how to use your flash without being overly technical. And that to me is worth far more than the detailed technical stuff. Don’t mistaken me, there is technical stuff but in a fun and humorous way.

If you are going to use your flash for anything, read this book and you will see small flashes in a very different way, I know I do.

Find out more about it here and head over to his blog.

Warning: This is a Nikon centric book, though the techniques can be applied to any manufacturer.
