As we prepare for the trip and do the last preparations it occurs to me that 11 days took 15 days to prepare…
Let me give you the itinerary:
- Day 1 – Blyde River Canyon (Highveld)
Route: Johannesburg – Lydenburg –Sabie – Graskop – Blyde River Canyon (Highveld)
Visits: Long Tom Pass, Mac Mac Waterfall Graskop Pancakes, Berlin and Lisbon Falls, The Pinnacle, Wonder view, God’s Window, Burke’s Luck Potholes, 3 Roundavels.
Estimated travel distance: 470km. - Day 2 – Blyde River Canyon (Lowveld)
Route: Blyde River Canyon (Highveld) – Blyde River Canyon (Lowveld)
Visits: A trip on Blyderivierspoort Dam, Marieps View Site if accessible.
Estimated travel distance: 92km - Day 3 – Tzanneen
Route: Blyde River Canyon (Lowveld) – Tzaneen – Phalaborwa
Visits: Tzaneen – The big Baobab – Modjadji Palms (Cycads) – Amarula Lapa Distillery
Estimated travel distance: 325km - Day 4 – Kruger National Park
Route: Phalaborwa – Kruger National Park
Visits: A boat trip on the Olifant river and driving around Kruger National Park
Estimated travel distance: unknown. - Day 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 – Kruger National Park
Route: In Kruger National Park
Visits: Driving around Kruger National Park
Estimated travel distance: unknown. - Day 11 – Return to Johannesburg
Route: Kruger National Park – Johannesburg
Estimated travel distance: 575km.
